Very interesting. A lot of vendors. All pulling you into the shops. Always remember to haggle. Also don’t buy from the shops at or near the entrance as often the same things towards the centre of the bazaar will be cheaper. The atmosphere is fantastic but don’t expect any bargains.
This has to get 4 stars due the sheer size of it and and abundance of produce on offer. Haggle like you never haggled before.
I was here 15 years and it was hell. However all the sellers are consumed by mobile phones these days so you can escape with ease.
We visited today to have a look around and was very impressed with this bazaar. It's a network of many streets filled with many vendors of all types of ornaments, gifts, spices and jewellery. If you're a tourist, be prepared to really bargain as they look at your face and give a price that comes to mind, it's also beneficial to have some prices in mind. The variety of items found here isn't available outside and those items are expensive. But it's definitely a must visit for the experience as we've not seen a vast bazaar like this before.
Covered market, very historical feeling, though the shops are full of modern stuff.
Too many shops for selling replica stuff (sport shoes, belts, ladies hand bags and men wallets. )
But poor quality replica (may be kind of 2nd copy)
Too expensive pricing.
Some stuff was really good, like towel shops and other garment shops.
Too busy and crowded place.
Always remember the gate numbers, to avoid being lost.
Tram is the best way to reach there, avoid taxi.
Lot of bargain when buying any stuff.
Lots of very good food joints.
A massive collection of shops with overinflated prices. Also the air is almost unbreathable as people smoke everywhere despite enclosed space. Not good for kids to go. Unless you know someone there who introduces you to some honest sellers, best to avoid buying almost anything here
A very busy place! Bought some spices, souvenirs, jewelry. Definitely bargain! The prices they say is usually 3x times more that what they agree for final price. So put on your bargaining hat and enjoy the shops!
You will mostly be welcomed with Turkish tea in most of the places! It's a huge place and it's very easy to get lost inside the market or keep track of your time!
I liked it but be aware there is so much difference in prices for the same item between a shop and another.
Always bargain before buying! I saw a jacked for 1600 TL (around 55 $) after bargaining on the price he offered to give a discount for 100 TL
Same jacket in another shop was for 2400 TL. After bargaining he removed 1000TL. So i boght it for 1400 TL
Nice place to come visit and see all the shops. Everything inside here is in Euros, so not spending friendly for South African currency. We ended up buying from shops outside which is in Turkish Lira and there are a lot of small shopping malls.
